A fun and informative opportunity to hear talks by, eat lunch with, and meet and talk to Catholic scientists.

A special feature of the event is the “Big Questions/Ask-a-Scientist” Poster Session. This consists of 15 Catholic scientists, young and old, men and women, representing a wide variety of fields, each with a poster display stating the big, unanswered questions in his or her field of science.  Attendees can go to the posters that interest them and talk to the scientist about that field of science, careers in science, being a Catholic in science, or anything they are curious about.

Also, attendees can hear two short plenary talks (20-25 minutes each) and after the free lunch with the scientists can choose two more short talks from a menu of six, on a variety of faith-science topics.

This event is presented by the Society of Catholic Scientists, the Science and Religion Initiative of the McGrath Institute of Church at Univ. of Notre Dame, and the Lumen Christi Institute, with funding from the John Templeton Foundation.

There are benefits to teachers who attend: small stipends for those that bring students, and 8 hours of professional development (certificate awarded by the McGrath Institute of the University of Notre Dame).
