Tenure-track Asst. Professor of Biology opening at Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

The Department of Biology at The Catholic University of America seeks to fill a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Biology, to begin in the fall of 2025.  They seek candidates who understand, are enthusiastic about, and will make a significant contribution to the mission of the University.
The candidate should be an enthusiastic biologist engaged in an exciting discipline including, but not limited to, computational biology/bioinformatics, cell and molecular biology or environmental science. The successful candidate would integrate basic and translational research to solve current challenges in fields such as human disease, biotechnology or environmental issues. Applications are sought from candidates using multifaceted
mechanistic approaches to study an important problem. The successful candidate will join a collegial research-oriented, student-centered department that offers undergraduate and graduate (MS and PhD) programs. The new faculty member is expected to pursue an extramurally-funded research program and teach undergraduate and graduate courses such as computational biology/bioinformatics, microbiology and/or cell and molecular biology.
The candidate will assist in the administration and development of other undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Biology. Requires Doctorate in Biological Sciences or related field or foreign degree equivalent.

Appointment: Full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor to
begin on August 20, 2025.
