(1) The Department of Physics at Seton Hall University invites applications to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning the Fall 2025 semester. A Ph.D. in Physics or Applied Physics and a research specialization in Engineering is required. Candidates should have expertise and research interests in renewable energy, environmental science & engineering, and related topics in materials science & engineering, The candidate is expected to build an on-campus research program, successfully seek sponsored research grants, and involve undergraduate and graduate students in scholarly activity. We seek a candidate who demonstrates excellence in teaching lecture and laboratory courses at all levels, especially to students of diverse backgrounds.
This position is part of a collaborative STEM hiring initiative between the Departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science and Physics in the broad areas of applied science and/or engineering, including: computer science, electrical, cybersecurity, systems, materials science, bio-analysis, sensors and sustainability. (2) Seton Hall University, an archdiocesan Catholic institution founded in 1856, invites applications for a full-time tenure track professor at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences to start Fall 2025, pending final budgetary approval.

The Department of Biological Sciences is undergoing rapid growth and seeks to develop coursework and research in cancer biology and related fields.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will develop a research program that involves both undergraduate and graduate students and can be externally funded. The position includes teaching biology major required courses, cancer focused courses, as well as graduate courses within their area of expertise. Faculty are also expected to mentor Graduate students’ research; offer experiential research opportunities with advising to undergraduate students; and provide services to the department, college, and university.

More specifically, the hire would be expected to (1) run a core biology courses & support the biology majors in all sciences; (2) increase the variety of upper-level bio-electives by offering courses such as cancer biology, cancer prevention, and/or cancer therapies (3) assist with educating, managing, mentoring, and advising the increased number of biology majors; (4) provide a cancer based research space for undergrads and graduate students; (5) and assist with all the day today activities that are important to a functional department
(6).

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Cancer sciences or related fields. Preferred candidates would have 2yrs of relevant postdoctoral training, a strong publication record, and previous teaching experience at the college level. (ABDs will be considered)
