Opening for Asst. Professor, open specialization, at Wyoming Catholic College in Lander, WY.
Wyoming Catholic College has an opening for an Assistant Professor position. The field is open, but WCC would be particularly interested in hiring for the position a scientist with an avid interest in a Catholic liberal arts education. Here is the job description:
Wyoming Catholic College invites applications for the position of assistant professor. Candidates must have a doctorate and must satisfy one of the following:
- hold a graduate degree in theology, or
- hold a graduate degree in mathematics or one of the sciences, or
- hold a graduate degree in any of the College’s other curricular tracks (Humanities, Philosophy, Fine Arts, Latin, or Trivium) and either (i) have the qualifications and experience to teach an introductory course in the College’s equestrian program using a natural horsemanship approach, or (ii) have proficiency in choir directing and music education.
Faculty at Wyoming Catholic College hold an appointment in one curricular track, which reflects their primary area of specialty and most frequent area of teaching. However, faculty are strongly encouraged (and enabled through auditing, mentorship, and other opportunities for professional development) to teach in other tracks as well.
In a cover letter, applicants should explain how their philosophy of education accords with that of the College (expressed in the Philosophical Vision Statement) and specify which courses in which of WCC’s curricular track(s) they are readily equipped to teach and which track(s) they might eventually grow into if they were to join the Wyoming Catholic College faculty (for more information on WCC’s curriculum, consult the Academic Catalog). Applicants should also submit their curriculum vitae, unofficial transcripts, and contact information for three academic references.
A start date of spring 2026 or fall 2026 is preferred. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
Applications and questions about the position may be sent to the college’s Academic Dean, Scott Olsson (dean@wyomingcatholic.edu).
