Public Lecture at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS, on Nov 15,

There will be a Public Lecture at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, Nov 15, on the campus of Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. (venue TBD). The lecture, entitled “‘The heavens declare the glory of God’: Catholic Contributions to Astronomy from the Middle Ages to Modernity” will be given by Prof. Christopher Shingledecker of Benedictine College. Prof. Shingledecker’s team was among the first to use the James Webb Space Telescope and were the first to observe a star-forming region.
Earlier, at 5:30 PM, there will be Gold Mass in St. Benedict’s Abbey Church (1020 N 2nd St, Atchison, KS 66002) on the campus of Benedictine College. The celebrant will be Abbot James Albers, OSB, of St. Benedict’s Abbey. After the Mass and before the lecture there will be a reception at 6:30 PM.
