Tenure-Track Assistant Professors in Computer Science

“The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at The Catholic University of America invites applications for several tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level, beginning January or August 2023.

“All areas in Computer Science will be considered, however, the area of robotics and machine learning will be given special attention.  We intend to establish Catholic University as a thought-leader in the area of ethics in machine learning and artificial intelligence.

“The Catholic University of America, located in Washington D.C., is composed of 12 schools offering a wide variety of undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees. The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, in the School of Engineering, offers bachelor’s degrees (ABET accredited) and graduate degrees (MS and PhD) in both electrical engineering and computer science, as well as a professional master’s degree in data analytics and graduate certificate programs in data analytics, power electronics, and cyber security and privacy. “Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses as assigned by the department chair, developing a sustainable, externally-funded research program, supervising graduate and undergraduate students, and pursuing scholarly publications and professional activities. Qualified candidates must have an earned doctorate in computer science (anticipated completion prior to starting the position is acceptable). Candidates should have the ability to motivate and inspire students through effective teaching and communication, demonstrate the potential to establish an externally-funded research program, and have a strong record of scholarly publications.
